As of October 1st 2018, dogs will be required to be identified with a microchip (according to law 18.471, article 18).
Pets must be transported in a kennel, or if the passenger transports a vehicle (car or van), it can be transported inside the vehicle without the kennel.
It must be of rigid material, with ventilation, impermeable base and its dimensions: 45x35x25. It is not provided by the company. Pet bag will not be accepted.
Since December 1st. 2016 it is mandatory for the entry of pets to Uruguay to have the following certificates:
Screening test for the negative immune response to Leishmaniasis: according to the "Manual of Diagnostic Tests and Vaccines for Terrestrial Animals" of the OIE, made no later than 60 days prior to admission. Health certificate required by resolution MERCOSUR / GMC / RES No. 52/2012.
Identification with microchip: According to law 18.471 article 18.
The Sanitary Control Authorities of Uruguay will not allow pets into the country that do not have these certificates.
They travel in the cabin without a kennel and at no charge, upon presentation of training and vaccination certificate.
